Blonde Ale History

When lagers became popular in Europe at the turn of the 18th century, Belgian ale brewers had to get creative if they were going to compete and stay in business. Sticking to their roots, the brewers used the same distinctly Belgian ale yeasts, but changed the grain bill to include paler malts, thus creating a new style of beer: the “Belgian Blonde Ale”. North Americans later started brewing blonde ales with lighter, neutral yeasts to create the American blonde ale.

Two Wolves is proudly brewed in collaboration with Factory Brewing, in Vancouver, BC.
